to those who tried to get me to smoke so soon, and told me im an idiot - thanks. who needs smoking when i have friends like that?

Good luck.
I know a lot of people had success quitting by using a nicotine inhaler. Or are you going on sheer willpower?

statistics say that if you get past the first 72 hours - you'll stay smoke free. because, after 72 hours all the nicotine is out of your system - you've gone thru the dt's and you lungs are actually beginning to heal. after two weeks you should be just peachy... all the tar out of your lungs... your sense of taste and smell will be returning.

hang in there man - it ain't so bad over here in the "no smoking section"

(by the way - tom quit at midnight, too... and, i think that he's the only person i know who smoked more than you. :) )

</i>HAPPY GNU YEAR, MONKEY!</i>

eh... i've quit something like four to five times... the longest being for three years. i think a wicked party weekend in new orleans is what started me back up last time... good luck & stay strong, my brotha...

linux? nope... the use of monkey is always funny - it's a rule of comedy... and, the use of gnu in place of new in my speech in general is a nod of appreciation to the 80's lunchtime classic - THE GREAT SPACE COASTER

gary gnu? the fake news broadcaster puppet... "no gnus is good gnus with gary gnu?"

anyhow... :)

Good for you! Even if you've tried before, don't give up, one of these days you'll succeed. I've tried to quit smoking SO many times and it's a terrible addiction. Good luck!

good luck!!! i think you'll be able to do it. i've made it so far too, but i didn't stop at midnight like you. i think being so sick and hungover that i couldn't even think of smoking really helped that first day!
